Transferring a .UK Domain
In most cases, the registrant of the domain name will themselves have
the authority to transfer it.
You can find out which member of Nominet UK has control over the domain
name by performing a "Whois" search using the facility provided
by Nominet UK at http://www.nic.uk.
This will provide you with all the necessary contact details in order
to proceed with the transfer.
Once you have identified the controlling member of the domain name,
you will need to contact them and ask if they can transfer it to a
new ISP. This can usually be done via a fax.
You should instruct them to release the domain name to IPS Tag ALTAIRE,
specifying the DSN details as follows:- |

| Once it has been transferred to our servers,
a propagation period of 24 to 48 hours should be allowed in order
for all servers and routers to see your web site. |

Transferring International Domains (.com, .net and .org)
International domains can usually only be transferred by the admin
contact or registrant of the domain name. To find out all the necessary
details to proceed with the transfer, use the service provided by
InterNic at http://www.internic.net/whois.html.
You will need to liase with the admin contact, and ask them if they
will agree to transfer the domain name. If you cannot get hold of
either the admin contact or the registrant, you can call InterNic
on 0800 298 2333 for further information.
The registrant will need to send a transfer document to the current
ISP provider on company header paper to the admin contact for the
domain you are wishing to transfer. The documentation should specify
the domain name, registrant contact and the named domain servers to
transfer to as follows:- |

Once you have permission to transfer the
domain name, contact
PC Initiative, and we will give you the necessary
instructions to complete the transfer. By law the legal owner of the
domain must be the one who writes to the old ISP requesting the transfer.
When the transfer is complete, please allow 48 to 72 hours for propagation
of your web site. |
